So You Have Plans for Trinidad Carnival 2022?

After missing carnival for just one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Trinidad Carnival in a scaled down version will be returning in 2022. Some major changes that will very possibly make it entirely unrecognisable. Next year’s carnival will be taking a very different turn due to measures put in place by the Trinidad and Tobago government to prevent people from contracting the Covid virus.

Speaking of the state of the carnival, Prime Minister Rowley said, “We have received good advice, after extensive consultation, about Carnival. Carnival 2022 will not see street parades, unvaccinated gatherings and wild public partying, but there is room for ‘safe-zone’ venue-specific events where some elements of the festival can be sampled as a Carnival microcosmic mosaic with a difference.”

Trinidad Carnival 2022 is scheduled to take place from Monday 28 February to Tuesday 1 March.
