Monk's New Soca Album Lands #1 On Billboard Reggae Chart
Soca King Machel Montano has topped the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart with his latest effort, the 20-song G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) album which debuts this week with 419 copies sold.
G.O.A.T. features collaborations with fellow soca artistes Super Blue, Farmer Nappy, Bunji Garlin Skinny Fabulous and others. Also features a collab with R&B superstar Ashanti as well as the Calypso Queen of the world Calypso Rose and Dancehall star Ding Dong. This is Machel's first Billboard number one. His Monk Monte peaked at number two in 2015, while Monk Evolution stalled at number five in 2016.
The G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) is available on iTunes and Amazon. Soca lovers around the world are already anticipating the 2019 edition of Machel Monday concert which is a staple event during Trinidad's Carnival season. This year Machel Monday concert which will take place on February 25th at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port Of Spain has been labelled the Greatest of All Time to collide with Machel's album title.
