Trinidad and Tobago To Host Caribbean’s Biggest Arts Festival

CARIFESTA RETURNS TO THE FETE LAND

The Caribbean’s largest art and cultural festival will be hosted in the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago from August 16th to 25th.  The Caribbean Festival of the Arts (CARIFESTA) is in its fourteenth year and has spanned over two decades with several different islands in the region having hosted the much anticipated festival. This year it returns to the feteland (party land) to showcase Caribbean culture to the world

In previous years, CARIFESTA has been the needed change for strengthening regional integration among Caribbean countries, entertainers and cultural practitioners. This wide ranging festival has been a platform for the Caribbean to take centre-stage, by bringing the essence of what makes the islands culturally rich to the world.

In 2019, the theme of the festival is “Connect, Share, Invest”, and this is the main goal for many in the the Caribbean who believe in regional integration.  As hosts this year, Trinidad and Tobago will continue to confirm its status as a Mecca in the Caribbean’s creative space as the dual islands have been labelled as the Cultural Capital of the region.  The islands are home to Carnival, “the greatest show on earth”, land of soca music, and the infectious sound of steelpan so there is much excitement as the destination gets to showcase and market the culture of Trinidad and Tobago to the Caribbean region and the rest of the world through CARIFESTA XIV.
