Canadian Movie About Trini Doubles Is Being Worked On

Director Ian Harnarine's father-son drama about the iconic Trinidadian street food snack is among 31 projects to receive funding from Telefilm's Talent To Watch program.

Yes you heard that right! Doubles, the popular Trinidadian street food in which chickpeas in a spicy filling come housed between two warm and fluffy baras will be showcased in Canadian film.

Trini-Canadian filmmaker Ian Harnarine plans to expand his Spike Lee-executive produced, TIFF prize-winning short film 'Doubles With Slight Pepper' to feature length. The father-son drama is among the 31 first feature and web projects to receive financing through funding body Telefilm’s Talent to Watch program. The full list was announced on June 12.

However we many have to wait a few years to see Ian's film about  Trini Doubles  because earlier film productions from Talent to Watch are now completing production after years of being in the works and yet to hit camera. Still we are excited to see this movie and how this famous Trini  street food is showcased to the world.
