Artist Profile: Olatunji Yearwood
Olatunji Yearwood (born on 03rd September 1985) better known as Ola is a musical artiste strongly associated with the Soca music genre. He was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago to Edward Yearwood, a well known composer and Mairoon Ali a Trinidadian actress.
In Sepetember 2018 Olatunji was featured as a contestant on the X Factor UK (Series 15). During his audition a technical glitch resulted in the wrong track first being played. However when fixed, together with two back up dancers he went on to sing
his original song "Bodyline". His performance resulted in a standing ovation from all four judges allowing him to progress to the next round. He made it to the live shows and performed another one of his original songs "Jiggle It". He was later eliminated finishing in 16th place.
Olatunji breakthrough in Soca mainstream popularity came in
2015 with an afro influence soca hit song "Oh Yay"
Throughout the years he has given Soca lovers around the world a multiple of hit songs. Some of them are Ola x Jiggle It x Winning Good .
