Trinidadian soca star 5 Star Akil will carry the soca music baton at this year Music Wave Festival in Beijing, China. He will be the only soca artiste at the festival which has been staged for 13 years since 2004. The theme for this year festival is Symbiosis, Salute the Republic, which means a feast with International friends according to the brochure of the event.
Born Akil Borneo, 5 Star soca hit song 'Personal' has gained him more popularity and an increase in invitations to perform at events around the world. He is one of many soca stars taking the brand of soca around the world.
